Electric Driving
Plug into possible
ZERO TAILPIPE EMISSIONS
Nissan LEAF burns absolutely zero gasoline, which means tailpipe emissions and engine noises are officially in your electric rear view.
INSTANT ACCELERATION AND FUN
Nissan LEAF unleashes the full power of its 100% electric drivetrain every time you hit the accelerator.
ELECTRIC-ONLY BENEFITS
Going electric comes with some surprisingly pleasant cost-of-ownership benefits, such as low maintenance costs and zero trips to the gas station.
100% torque off the line
You can unleash the full power of Nissan LEAF’s drivetrain when you hit the accelerator for a rush of instant electric performance.
Handles like a dream
Nissan LEAF is just as much fun through the twists and turns. The floor-mounted battery pack creates a low center of gravity for a great ride and smooth handling, helping Nissan LEAF corner with reduced body roll.
The beauty of advanced engineering
A groundbreaking all-electric vehicle, Nissan LEAF’s motor uses zero gasoline. Not even a hybrid can match that. Nissan LEAF gets its power from a state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery mounted below the floor of the car — for smooth energy and stable driving. And charging is as simple as powering your cell phone: Just plug it in and let it go.
e-Pedal: one pedal, lots of fun
Imagine being able to drive your Nissan LEAF with only one pedal. Just press down for an instant rush and ease off to slow down and use the regenerative braking. It’s one smooth motion and a whole lot of fun. Of course, your brake pedal is still there so you can brake on demand.
No gasoline or tailpipe emissions
No gasoline means no tailpipe. No tailpipe means no tailpipe emissions. So forget gas stations and put emissions testing behind you. In the 100% electric Nissan LEAF, they’re truly a thing of the past.
No oil changes
Nissan LEAF isn’t powered by an internal combustion engine, so there’s no motor oil needed for lubrication or oil changes required to keep it running smoothly. Ever.
No tune-ups
Spark plugs, timing belts, oil changes — forget about them. Nissan LEAF is 100% electric, so get used to less maintenance and less hassle.
HOV lane access
When the majority of commuters get stuck in stop-and-go traffic, your Nissan LEAF could potentially gain you access to HOV and carpool lanes.
Preferred parking
With many charging spots placed near the front of stores, easier access is potentially possible. Of course, if you don’t need to charge, leave it open for your fellow EV drivers.
One quiet cabin
With no internal combustion engine, you can focus on more important things like enjoying your music or having a conversation with your passengers.
What are the perks of owning Nissan LEAF?
Driving Nissan LEAF means more than just electric thrill — it means potential EV incentives and perks, too. With available rebates, discounts on EV charger installation, maintenance savings, and potential HOV carpool benefits, going electric with Nissan LEAF is a forward leap any way you look at it.

Stops and goes with the flow of traffic
Take the tedium out of stop-and-go driving on the highway. Available ProPILOT Assist can help your Nissan LEAF SV PLUS keep a set distance from the car ahead of you based on traffic flow. It can even come to a full stop, bringing you back up to speed when traffic starts moving again.
Helps keep you centered
Nissan LEAF’s available ProPILOT Assist can help keep you centered in your lane through straightaways and even gentle curves.
Safety on your side
Nissan is creating a brighter future by making Safety Shield 360 standard on every Nissan LEAF. That means advanced features, including the ones found below, will always be on your side.
Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection monitors your speed and distance between you and the car ahead, letting you know if you need to slow down. It can also automatically engage the brakes to help avoid a frontal collision or lessen the severity of an impact. And when it detects a pedestrian in the crosswalk, it can stop you in your tracks.
Rear Automatic Braking
Is there something behind you? Rear Automatic Braking monitors the area directly behind your Nissan LEAF for large stationary items you might not see. If it detects an object and you fail to stop, it can automatically engage the brakes to help avoid a rear collision or lessen the severity of an impact.
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
Rear Cross Traffic Alert helps you back out of a space with more confidence. It watches around the rear of your Nissan LEAF, warning you if it detects other cars you might not see.
Blind Spot Warning
Change lanes with more confidence. Blind Spot Warning keeps an eye on your Nissan LEAF’s blind spot area and gives you a heads-up if it detects a vehicle hiding there.
Lane Departure Warning
Hold it right there. Lane Departure Warning helps make sure you change lanes only when you mean to. If the system detects that you’re drifting over, haptic feedback on the steering wheel can let you know.
High Beam Assist
High Beam Assist helps out with night vision, while being considerate of other drivers. It automatically switches to low-beam headlights when it detects a vehicle ahead and turns the high beams back on when you need them.
Intelligent Forward Collision Warning
What’s up ahead? Nissan LEAF knows. Intelligent Forward Collision Warning watches up to two cars ahead, and when it detects sudden deceleration in front of you, it gives you a warning to slow down.
Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention
Change lanes with confidence. If Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention detects you’re trying to change lanes while another car is in your blind spot area, it can apply the brakes and help guide your Nissan LEAF back into your lane.
Intelligent Lane Intervention
Intelligent Lane Intervention helps keep you in your lane. When lane markings are clear, it can detect if you’re straying out of your lane and can engage the brakes to help gently guide your Nissan LEAF toward the center.
Intelligent Around View Monitor
Park like a pro, even when it’s a tight squeeze. Available Intelligent Around View Monitor gives you a virtual composite 360° bird’s-eye view of your Nissan LEAF SV PLUS. Select from split-screen close-ups of front, rear, and curbside views. The display also gives you an on-screen heads-up when the system detects moving objects near your vehicle.
Intelligent Driver Alertness
Time for a break? Available Intelligent Driver Alertness monitors your steering patterns, and if the system detects you might be getting drowsy and need a break, it alerts you with a chime and a coffee cup icon on your display.
Intelligent Trace Control
Enjoy hugging curves with handling that feels effortless. Intelligent Trace Control reads the situation and, if needed, can brake each wheel individually to help you steer smoothly through the corners.
Active Ride Control
Bump? What bump? Active Ride Control can automatically apply the brakes and adjust engine torque to smooth out your ride, turning those mountains into molehills.
Hill start assist
When you’re on a steep hill, there’s always that car behind you that’s too close for comfort. Thankfully, hill start assist helps stop you from rolling backward. It holds brake pressure for a few seconds, giving you enough time to switch from the brake pedal to the accelerator.
Electronic parking brake with automatic brake hold
Take a little drudgery out of stop-and-go traffic. With Auto-Hold engaged, Nissan LEAF SV PLUS will hold the brakes without you having to keep your foot on the pedal. When you’re ready, just press the accelerator and drive away.
Nissan LEAF looks out for your safety
10 standard airbags
The Nissan Advanced Air Bag System includes dual-stage supplemental front airbags with seat belt and occupant-classification sensors. In addition, Nissan LEAF is equipped with front and rear seat-mounted side-impact supplemental airbags, front-seat knee airbags, and roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental airbags with rollover sensor.
Advanced braking system
Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) can detect extra weight in the back and adjust the rear brakes accordingly. And if Brake Assist senses an emergency, it provides extra pedal pressure and quicker ABS/EBD response.
Traction technology
In slick road conditions, Vehicle Dynamic Control monitors steering and braking and responds by reducing engine output and/or applying brake pressure to specific wheels. The Traction Control system helps to reduce tire spin. When it senses drive-wheel spin, it responds by reducing throttle or applying brake pressure to specific wheels.
Zone body construction
This advanced body construction combines impact-absorbing structures with a high-strength cabin, which helps provide protection for you and your passengers.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System with Easy-Fill Tire Alert
The Nissan LEAF’s Tire Pressure Monitoring System can let you know whenever a tire is low. And the Easy-Fill Tire Alert takes the guesswork out of filling your tires, with a beep of the horn to let you know when you’ve reached the correct pressure.
LATCH and Snug Kids®
