Electric Car vs. Hybrid: What’s the Difference?

You’ve undoubtedly heard of hybrid vehicles during your search for a more fuel-efficient ride, but what’s the difference between a hybrid vehicle and an electric vehicle? Hybrid vehicles combine a gasoline-powered engine with a battery-powered electric motor. Electric vehicles run solely on a battery and don’t use gasoline fuel at all. This means that hybrid vehicles can self-charge their batteries with the gasoline engine while electric vehicles need to be plugged into a charging station when their battery runs low.
